Unfortunately, a couple of little changes to your event diary have had to be put in place;
Due to unforseen circumstances, the "British Wildlife" lecture by Keith Hildreth, DPAGB (originally planned for 18th May, 2009), must now take place on 1st June, 2009.
As a result, the regular monthly "Enprint" competition (scheduled for 1st June, 2009), will now take place on 8th June, 2009.
In addition to this, the judging of the Swan Trophy competition (scheduled for 8th June, 2009), will now take place on 15th June, 2009.
The "Studio Night" originally planned for that date will be re-scheduled to 18th May, 2009.

What can I say? You done us proud! The results of the NCPF Annual Competitions were received recently, and our Club can hold it's head up very high indeed. Carole Burns (Chairperson, 2008-2009) and Trevor Roxby (Competition Secretary, 2008-2009), would like to extend a personal thank you to all Members who took part in what has turned out to be our best effort (both for number of prints submitted and for results achieved) in a long time. They both feel that this result is "the icing on the cake" at the end of their year in charge of running the Club. A very apt sentiment, given Carole's renowned ability for turning out exceedingly good cakes. And, of course, given Trevor's ability to polish off any cake within reach! A special thank you goes out to both Phil and Sharon Davis, for their tireless efforts in organising the submission - from the collection of the prints, to the delivery to the NCPF. So... what's got us all so excited? |

Monday, 20th April saw a desperate struggle for glory as the judging of the annual "Andrew Kerr Memorial Competition" drew to a close. Such was the quality of the submitted body of work, that judge Trevor Woods, APAGB, EFIAP was forced to introduce his own, unique placings system.
"In addition to the expected 1st, 2nd, 3rd and H.C. (or, Highly Commended) placings," he explained, "I have introduced the "H.D." mark." To his bemused audience, he further explained:
"That, obviously, means Highly Disappointed. And a lot of you are going to be exactly that!"

Here's one to put straight into your diary - We will be hosting another "Open Night" at the Club on 13th May, 2009. We hope to have a studio setup in operation, plus practical demonstrations. The event starts at 7p.m. and will be in Room 10, Hartlepool People's Centre, Raby Road, Hartlepool. There will even be light refreshments, and possibly a nibble or two! Everyone is welcome, from absolute beginner to seasoned snappers! We hope to see you there. |

Those of you who "login" to the front-end of the site (i.e. this bit... not the Gallery), will have noticed the NewsLetter tool appearing on the left of the screen? Along with our new Club Secretary, Michelle, I'm currently working on getting the brand-new e-mail NewsLetter system up-and-running. So, watch out for some Hot News heading your way, soon! To receive this NewsLetter, you need to "subscribe" to the"HCC News" option, by clicking in the small box alongside that title and then click "Change". You will currently only see the NewsLetter tool if you are "logged in". Any Member who has difficulty doing so, can contact me through the WebMaster link in the"Contact Us" page. |
