GENERAL PRINT RULES With the sole exception of the "Enprint Competition", ALL prints entered into competitions must be suitably card-mounted and titled. Facilities for mounting of prints are available in the Club. Photographer's name should NOT appear on the prints/mounts. Prints should be 5"x7" MINIMUM. The MAXIMUM size varies - see specific competition details below. Duplicate/repeat entries are allowed ONLY in the end-of-year "Open" competitions (Entry to these competitions and the Photo Society Challenge is limited to those members who have participated in at least ONE other Themed/Open competition in the year). All entries for competitions (unless otherwise indicated) must be submitted to the Competition Secretary by 9.00PM on the due date, and all appropriate entry fees paid at this time. DIGITAL COMPETITION This annual competition is our most recently-introduced event. Although digital manipulation IS allowed in all other competitions, the need for a specific challenge was there.... and so... The competition is "Open"-themed, and is subject to the same rules and conditions as any "Themed" competition, with the judging being done by the attending members on the night (using a "points score" system). END-OF-YEAR OPEN The end-of-year "Open" competitions are bound by the same rules as the general "Themed" competitions, with the exception that members ARE allowed to enter prints which have previously been entered into other competitions. These competitions are judged by an invited NCPF judge. PHOTO SOCIETY CHALLENGE This competition is our annual print battle with the Hartlepool Photo Society. It is an "Open"-themed competition, our Club's entry consisting of 10 monochrome and 10 colour prints. The prints making up our submission are selected by a Print Panel from those colour/monochrome prints entered by Club members for consideration. There is no fee for this competition, and no limit on the number of prints members may submit. THEMED COMPETITIONS The themes for these competitions will be decided by the Committee on planning the Club Diary of events for the year. You are encouraged to "interpret" the theme in whatever way suits your photographic abilities! Subject to the payment of the appropriate entry fee, there is no limit on the number of entries from each member. Entries may be in colour or monochrome (as dictated by the given theme). SWAN TROPHY This is an annual "Portrait"-themed competition. Subject to the payment of the appropriate entry fee, there is no limit on the number of entries from each member. Prints may be in colour or monochrome. This competition will be judged by an invited NCPF judge.
FRED WIGSTON MEMORIAL This is an annual, "Architecture"-themed slide/transparency competition, held in memory of Fred Wigston, an old Club member and dear friend. Subject to the payment of the appropriate entry fee, there is no limit set on number of entries for this competition. All entries must, however, be in 35MM slide format. Entries should be submitted to the Competition Secretary by 7.30PM on the due date. This competition is judged by the collected membership present on that night.
ANDREW KERR MEMORIAL ENPRINT COMPETITIONS The Enprint Competitions are held on the first Monday of each month (except for public holidays, when the Competition will be held on the next available date). The Competitions are "open-themed". Print entries should be submitted to the Competition Secretary by 7.30PM on competition night, and may be in colour or monochrome. The prints must NOT be card-mounted, and should be no larger than 5"x7". Each member may submit up to 5 prints on payment of the appropriate entry fee. Entries will be judged on the night by a selected Judge, who will "score" the top 6 prints. A trophy is awarded at the end of the year to the member who accumulates the highest points score over the year.
