Anyone who has been here before will probably notice a couple of changes have taken place. I've updated the Calendar with a cool new program - but all of the Events are still there. Plus, look at that cool Mini-Calendar! You'll be able to see a range of Club prints popping up in the Calendar... and, if you're feeling that way inclined, you can browse our entire selection of Member's Prints by clicking the Gallery link on the left. Enjoy! |

In my wide and varied travels around the interwebby thing, I come across all sorts of stuff... and now I'm gonna start sharing it out with you. For starters, here's a couple of interesting photo-blog type sites I found recently: http://chromasia.com and http://macroartinnature.blogspot.com Some beautiful imagery can be found in both, and an interesting take on what makes a "fine art print" in the macro-art site. Plus loads of links worth following to kill a whole day seeing other people's photos. Woo-hoo! |

We are delighted to announce that Mark Waller has agreed to continue in his role of Club Chairman for the foreseeable future. Mark wishes to carry on leading the Club onward and upward and we hope all members will support and help him in that task. We are also pleased to welcome Peter Cannell into his new role of Deputy Chairman and Mr M McIntosh into his role as Darkroom Technician. Very well done to you all for stepping up to the mark! Keep up the great work. |

It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing of Jack Howe FRPS, APAGB. Jack passed away this morning (30th March 2006). We will post more details as we get them. The funeral is on Tuesday 4th April 11.00 am at Hartlepool Crematorium. It is the wish of Doris, his wife, that no one wears black, as she would like the service to be a thanksgiving.
On a personal note, I only met Jack on two occasions and on both of these he proved himself to be a warm person with an immense knowledge and experience of photography. He was willing to pass this on easily to anyone who asked. I also witnessed one of his presentations of his work at our club and was fascinated at his skill and craft.
Our deepest sympathies go to his family at this sad time. |
