My thanks to everyone for taking part... for everyone who gave their opinions in the Judging of the entries... and to poor Vicky, who helped me in our struggle to tot up the scores at the end of the night! A task which, unfortunately, had to be completed at home! But... without further ado... to the Results! 1ST PLACE : Warwick Castle waterwheel, by Kevin McCammon. A rich, punchy monochrome image, exhibiting masses of depth and texture. Highly detailed throughout and with a dramatic sky enhancing the scene, a worthy winner in everyones eyes. This image scored a total of 234 points. 2ND PLACE : City of Arts and Science, Valencia, by Colin Kitching. A successful capture of a highly modernistic building, somewhat reminiscent in design of the Sydney Opera House and the Thames Barrier. An interesting touch was the "framing" of the image, which added nicely to the presentation. Colin's image netted a tidy 223 points. 3RD PLACE : Newcastle Eye 2, by Michael Martindale. A colourful capture of a scene which has rapidly become a must-have shot for North-East photographers, Mick's image grabbed a deserving Third place, with a total of 219 points.
