Judged by Ted Wilding. Ted stated before he even started talking about the prints that the quality of the work was brilliant and had a tough job judging them. He openly admitted "nit picking" in the end to distinguish between them. In the end he awarded Highly Commended to: Mick Martindale Willa Laidler Eddie Laidler Bob Falliss Kev McCammon.
1st went to Vikki Whitaker with "spirit of the seas", a cracking print featuring three of the recent tall ships. In the top right, there was a ghost pirate and Ted mentioned that without the figure it would not have had the same impact. Well done Vikki. 2nd went to Kevin. He provided us with an image of Derwent water pier. A brilliant shot. Due to the problems Ted had judging the high standard of entries, he awarded a joint 3rd. Vikki once again stunned us with a majestic tall ship, the Astrid. This was noted for the sharpness and range of tones. Not only that she produced another cracker to claim the joint 3rd. This one featured a vampire clad in black hat and black cloak overcoat. Another great effort Vikki. Once again Ted commented on the quality of the prints and congratulated all who took part. Things are looking good for the print battle next year!! So don"t go to far with your entries as we will soon be looking for entries to be submitted to the inter club competition. All the entries to this competition are worthy candidates.
